Snyder died May 1, 1940, at the home of his son, Charles, in Stoystown, at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 18 days. He was born November 13, 1852, in Huntingdon County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Susan (Wagaman) Snyder; two sons, Charles, of Stoystown; Leroy, of Swissvale, and Mabel, wife of Charles Love, of Rockwood. Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. For many years Mr. Snyder was a member of the Glencoe Evangelical and Reformed Church, where funeral services were conducted on Friday afternoon, May 3, by the pastor, Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger. Interment was made in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, in charge of John H. Blanset, Stoystown mortician. He served the Glencoe Evangelical and Reformed Church as deacon a number of years and in 1925 was elected elder and served in that capacity since that time. He saw forty-four years of service for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, forty-two of which were spent in Glencoe. He retired twenty-three years ago. Meyersdale Republican, May 16, 1940
