Snyder, 59, of 402 West Catherine St., Somerset, died May 11, 1981, at his residence. He was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Somerset, son of the late Harry and Bessie (Rooney) Snyder. Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harry; one sister, Willa Jean; and one son, Eric Howard. Survived by his wife, the former Ann Tipton; two sons and a daughter: Jeffrey, Steven and Susan, all at home. Brother of: Mrs. Gene (Helen) Pile of Friedens; Mrs. Catherine Pucci of Somerset; and Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Smith of Severn, Md. Graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1939. World War II veteran. Was first lieutenant in Army Air Corps, navigator on a "Cock O'Sky" B-17 flying fortress. Received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters and Presidential Citation for meritorious flying over enemy territory. Was a retired Tour Superintendent of postal department, Arlington, Va.; member of Somerset American Legion and St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. Friends will be received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church with the Rev.
