    Martha C. Snyder, 70, Somerset, died July 23, 2002, at Allegheny
  General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Born April 14, 1932, in Somerset
  County, daughter of Paul and Carrie (Miller) Stern.  Preceded in death
  by parents; husband, Edwin Snyder; sisters, Twila Shaffer and Violet
  Shaffer; and granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Latshaw.  Survived by
  children, Ronald Snyder, Davidsville, Gerald "Smoke" Snyder, Seanor,
  and Judy, wife of Glenn McDowell, Franklin; and four grandchildren.
  Sister of Ruth Ferry and Dorcas Arnold, both of Somerset; Robert
  Stern, New York; Richard Stern, California; and Anna, wife, of Rodney
  Shaffer, Hooversville.  Member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren.
  Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2
  p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. Thursday at George E. Mason
  Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville.  Rev. William Wenger, officiating.
  Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
