    Merle J. Snyder, 73, Friedens RD 2, died Dec. 21, 1989, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born March 22, 1916, in Stonycreek Township, son of Walter
  and May (Will) Snyder.  Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former
  Elnora Deeter; son Harold, and grandsons, Scott and Merle J.  Survived
  by these children: Mrs. Donald (Glenda) Uithoven and Mrs. Lois
  Cosner, both of El Cajon, Calif.; Earl J., married to the former
  Linda Onstead, and Mrs. Larry (Frances) Frazier, both of Berlin RD 1;
  Mrs. Lionel (Mary Lou) Berkebile, Windber; Mrs. Merle Richard (Martha)
  Flick and Robert M., married to the former Kay Flick, both of Friedens
  RD 2; 17 grandchildren.  Brother of Paul, married to the former
  Elizabeth Lambert, Stoystown RD 3, and Mrs. Donald (Margaret)
  Emerick, Central City RD 1.  Retired Stonycreek Township farmer.
  Member of Unity U.C.C. and the Mountain Field and Stream Club.  Family
  will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday
  at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 1:30
  p.m. Sunday, Rev. David Meyer.  Interment, Glade Cemetery.
