Emerson Snyder, 68, Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Meyersdale, died June 25, 1988, in St. Joseph Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona. He was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Meyersdale, a son of the late William R. and Fannie (Miller) Snyder. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Davis) Snyder; two brothers: Paul H. Snyder, Kensington, Md.; and William Snyder, Sea Breeze, Fl. Prior to 1953, while a resident of Meyersdale, he was employed at Meyersdale Dairy and had operated seberal service stations in Meyersdale. He was a member of Meyersdale Lions Club and Meyersdale Church of the Brethren. In 1953, he moved to Phoenix where he was employed at Phoenix School System as a maintenance engineer, retiring in 1980 with 26-years service. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren of Phoenix; and a number of Masonic organizations, Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shrine. Friends were received at Leckemby Funeral Home, Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. Graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery, with the Rev. William Davis officiating.
