    Walter E. "Pete" Snyder, 78, of Gooseberry Avenue, Hyndman, died
  Sat., Aug. 27, 1988, at home.
    Born in Hyndman, May 22, 1910, he was a son of the late Francis J.
  and Daisy (Beals) Snyder.
    He retired in 1974 with 41 years of service at the former Amcelle
  plant of the Celanese Corp. in Cumberland.  He was a member of the
  Hyndman United Methodist Church.
    Surviving are his widow, Ethel L. (Leydig) Snyder; one daughter,
  Mrs. Janet M. Kendall, Ellerslie, Md.; two sisters, Mildred Wilhelm,
  Hyndman RD 1; and Cora Bowers, Canton, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where
  services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ken L. Korns
  officiating.
    Interment, Madley Cemetery, Madley, Pa.
    Pallbearers were Stephen Shaffer, Charles Shaffer, Carl Bittner,
  Walter Burkett, Wilbert Stouffer, and Clinton Winebrenner.
