  SOFALY
  
  Francis J. "Frank" Sofaly, 79, of Jennerstown, died on arrival March
  30, 2003, at Somerset Hospital.  Born March 31, 1923, in Irwin, son
  of Frank Jr. and Barbara (Spurk) Sofaly.  Preceded in death by
  parents; first wife, former M. Blanche (Pebley) Pristas, on Oct. 16,
  1991; two brothers and three sisters.  Survived by wife, former
  Florence M. (Shaffer) Rose; children, Richard G. Pristas, married to
  Joyce Miller, Stoystown and Joyce D. (Pristas), married to Stephen
  Johnson Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepchildren, James L. Rose, married
  to former JoAnn Thompson, Pueblo, Colo.; and JoAnn R. (Rose) married
  to William "Gabo" Stoppe; and Leslie N. Rose, married to former
  Carmen Jarvis, both of Jenner Township; eight grandchildren; eight
  great-grandchildren and sisters Theresa Nelson, Irwin; and Ann Kos,
  Pittsburgh.  U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served with
  the Underwater "Frogman" Demolition Team, which today is known as the
  Navy Seals.  A master electrician in Massachusetts, where he lived for
  30 years.  After his retirement, he moved to Jennerstown in 1986. 
  Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown;
  Robert P. Hite, Stoystown, Post 257 American Legion; Z&M Harley
  Owners Group, Latrobe; and was a member of NRA.  An avid motorcycle
  rider and outdoorsman.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street Boswell, where
  Stoystown Legion will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and
  funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev.
  Jacquelyn A. Ahern officiating.  Interment, Daley Cemetery, Shade
  Township.  Graveside military rites by Somerset County Honor Guard.
