Race Street, Somerset, died August 22, 1977, at the Valley View Home in Altoona where she had been a guest for six days. She formerly lived at 1518 20th Ave., Altoona. She was born July 21, 1886, in Boalsburg, Centre County, daughter of John W. and Mary (Houseman) Ishler. She was married to Wesley E. Spahn who died on October 30, 1960. She is survived by one son, the Rev. John Wesley Spahn, with whom she had resided for the past seven years, one grandson, two great grandsons. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Altoona and active in the missionary society and the ladies aide at the church. She was also active in Sunday School. Friends will be received at the Carn Funeral Home, 2036 Broad Avenue in Altoona, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Carn Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. C. Edward Cooper, officiating. Interment, Oak Ridge Cemetery in Altoona.
