Spaid of Beavertown, Pa., in this community will regret to hear of his death which occurred Monday, January 3, following an operation in the Geiger Hospital, Danville. He was 46 years of age. His wife before her marriage was Margaret Ebaugh, daughter of William H. Ebaugh of Meyersdale. Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Charles R. Spaid, Jr., and Crystal Ann; also by one sister, Miss Esther Spaid, of Middleburg, Pa., and one brother, W. D. Spaid of Beavertown. At the time of his death Mr. Spaid was serving his second term as president of the Borough Council of Beavertown. He had been a salesman for many years for the Virginia-Carolina Corporation, selling V. C. Fertilizer. Meyersdale was in his sales territory. He was a member of the Sunbury Elks Lodge, the Beavertown Lodge of Masons and the Evangelical Church. Funeral services were held January 6 with Rev. R. E. Springer, pastor of the McClure Evangelical Church officiating. Interment was made in the Beavertown Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 20, 1944
