Preceded in death by parents; son John Allan, died 1967; sister, Myrtle Schwartz; brother, Harry "Pat". Survived by wife, the former Marjorie Fawks and these children: Charles F., Jr., married to the former Karin Bissenger, Shermans Dale; Mary, wife of Tom Wright, Norman, Okla.; and Timothy, married to the former Deborah Coughenour, Jennerstown. Four grandchildren: Chris, and Annie Jo Wright and Kevin and Jonathan Charles Spangler. Brother of: Carrie, wife of James Stufft, Boswell RD 2; Elsie, widow of Glenn Baughman, Jennerstown; Mae, widow of Edward Jackson, Somerset; William, married to former Marie Amato, Somerset RD 6; Etta, wife of Edward Landis, Brotherton; Ida, wife of Ward Maust, Berlin; David, married to former Catherine Eby, Boswell RD 2; Ruth, wife of Dr. Scott Wallace, Provo, Utah; and Richard. Past member of former Reformed Church, Jennerstown. Thirty-second degree life member of Ancon Lodge, A.F.&A.M., Balboa, Republic of Panama. Retired Master Sgt., U.S. Army with 33 years service. Also retired Jenner Township farmer. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ near Gray where viewing will also be held from 10 a.m. until time of service, the Rev. Joseph M. Beer officiating.
