Spangler, 79, formerly of Somerset, died Sunday, March 28, at her home on Grove Street, St. Petersburg, Fla. Death was due to a heart attack. Miss Spangler had been in St. Anthony's Hospital for several weeks with a broken leg due to an accident during a heavy rain when she was struck by a car and suffered a double fracture. Miss Spangler, according to relatives in Somerset, was sufficiently recovered to go home and was apparently well when the attack occurred. Miss Bess Shaver, a cousin, was reading a letter from her which had been written on Good Friday, when news of her death reached her Somerset relatives. Miss Spangler has lived in St. Petersburg for 30 years. She has no near relatives except Attorney C. L. Shaver and Miss Bess Shaver and their two brothers in Ohio, cousins. The body is being brought to Somerset, Friday, for burial. Services will be conducted in the Hoffman Funeral Home, Saturday, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. I. Hess Wagner, D.D., officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 1, 1948
