Spangler, 81, Friedens RD 2, died May 12, 1990, at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1908, in Elton, daughter of Milford and Elizabeth (Gearhart) Yeager. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Sterwart; grandson, Dean Koontz; two brothers and a sister. Survived by loving daughter, Nancy, who graciously cared for her mother for many years at home. Also survived by daughters, Dorothy, wife of Elroy Hinton, Wilmore; Doris, wife of Robert D. Kimmel and Shirley, wife of John Adder Jr., both of Friedens RD 2; Evelyn, wife of John Koontz, Bedford, and Mary, wife of Harry G. Schrock, Rockwood; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Sister of Olive, Chester. Favorite hymn was "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Her soul has now gone to meet that friend. Charter member of Shanksville Assembly of God Church and formerly nursed at Raymond Hospital, Johnstown. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Arthur Mahaffey officiating.
