Landis, Berlin RD, from a cardiac condition, having been ill only a few days. Mr. Spangler was born in Somerset County, January 16, 1876, a son of Michael and Henrietta Miller Spangler, both deceased. He was a farmer of Jenner Township, also followed the carpenter trade. His wife, Mary Friedline Spangler, died in 1947. He is survived by the following children: M/Sgt. Charles Spangler of the U.S. Army Reserve in Johnstown; Mrs. James Stuft, Boswell RD 2; Mrs. Glenn Baughman, Acosta; Mrs. Edward Jackson, Albany, Calif.; Mrs. Edward Landis and Mrs. Ward Maust, both of Berlin RD 2; William Spangler, Somerset RD 6; Davis Spangler, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Scott Wallace, Baltimore, Md.; Pfc. Richard Spangler, U.S. Army Air Force, Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Mrs. Mowry Griffith of Pittsburgh, and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Jennertown Reformed Church of which he was a member, the Rev. Warren O. Zeigler officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery under direction of Walter S. Hoffman, mortician. Meyersdale Republican, April 21, 1949
