Spangler, 70, Somerset RD 6, died Nov. 3, 1985, at residence. Born Oct. 21, 1915, in Hollsopple, son of late Harley A. and Olive (Kring) Spangler. Preceded in death by brother, Richard H.; and sister, Nancy Amber. Survived by wife, former Jean Baker; and these children: Mrs. Arthur (Mardianne) Gusbar, Friedens RD 1; Mrs. Samuel (Joan) Gamba, Camp Hill, Pa.; Mrs. James (Jacqueline) DePhillips, Somerset RD 6; and foster daughter, Shirlene Robideau, Tucson, Ariz.; also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Josephine Troupe, Somerset RD 1; Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Meyers, Somerset RD 6; and Jack, Clovis, N.M. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset Rotary Club, Somerset Country Club, Somerset Lodge No. 358 F&AM, Altoona Consistory, Jaffa Shrine, American Legion and VFW. Past president of Pennsylvania Restaurant Association, Midwest Chapter. Former co-owner of Oakhurst Tea Room. Veteran of World War II. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. H. James Meyers officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Body will lie in state at church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at funeral home.
