Clyde "Piney" Spangler, 67, Stoystown, died Feb. 4, 1985, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born May 6, 1917, in Stoystown, he was a son of Charles G. and Clara B. (Manges) Spangler. Preceded in death by parents, three brothers and two sisters. Survived by his wife, the former Margaret (Shaffer) Holsopple. Death ends a marriage union of 39 years. Also survived by these children: Mrs. Danny (Judy) Rice, Stoystown RD 1; Mrs. Barbara Tokar and Mrs. Walter (Flossie Ann) Barnes, both of Somerset; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was a brother of Mrs. Charles (Mary Alice) Bennett, Clarksburg, W. Va.; Mrs. Robert (Helen) Naugle, Hollsopple; Robert, Cleveland, Ohio; and Lloyd, Stoystown. He was a retired Quemahoning Township employee and a WW II Army veteran. He was a member of the Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion, Grace Lutheran Church, the Borough Water Authority, all of Stoystown, TPA and International Union of Operating Engineers. Family received friends Monday evening and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev.
