Spangler, 81, Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Someret [sic], died Dec. 8, in Lakeland Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 17, 1895 in Jennerstown, a son of the late John W. and Nancy Faith Spangler. Preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Rector; also a sister, Bessie and brothers, Ralph, Guy and Irvin. He is survived by his second wife, Ethel Rush Knupp and a step daughter, Mrs. Ted (Gladys) Allen, Greensburg. He was a member of the First United Methoidist [sic] Church, Somerset, Somerset Lodge 358 F and A M; Pittsburgh Consistory, Jaffa Temple. He was a charter member of Somerset Post 554 VFW. He was a veteran of World War I. He operated Spangler's Luncheonette from 1936-1944 and Spangler's Gift Shop from 1944-1960. Friends will be received in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home Saturday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services Sunday 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. John Cox. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Daily American, December 10, 1976 [S2475]
