Spangler, 78, of Ankney Ave., Somerset, died April 5, 1982, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1904, at Kimmelton, a son of the late Avery and Nellie (Lambert) Spangler. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Alda Stutzman; and a sister, Murdy Ferner. Survived by these children: Fred of Somerset; Robert of Port Huron, Mich.; and step-son Donald Koontz of Somerset RD 5; three grandchildren. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Somerset, the FOE, and was a retired employee of the B&O Railroad. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Gene Sellers officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Daily American, April 7, 1982 [S2478]
