JAMES SPANGLER

  James Spangler, aged 60, of Somerset, died Monday morning in the Memorial 
Hospital in Johnstown, where he had been a patient since April 25, suffering 
from blood poisoning.  He slipped and fell several weeks ago, infection 
developing from a scratch on his leg.  He submitted to blood transfusions on 
April 30 and May 9.  Surviving are his wife and four married daughters, Mrs. 
Harvey Sarver, of Shanksville; Mrs. Irvin Trent, of Listie; Mrs. Samuel J. 
Spangler, of Somerset, and Mrs. Leroy Foust, of Dividing Ridge.
  He was a brother of Mrs. Jerry Custer, of Central City; Mrs. Robert Zerfoss, 
of Geiger; Mrs. Albert Weigle, of Listie; Mrs. John Sheeler, of Lewistown, and 
Martin L. Spangler, of Hyasota.
  Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Church 
of the Brethren at Brotherton, by Rev. Q. A. Rhoades and Rev. Knepper.  
Interment in the church cemetery, in charge of Undertaker Walter S. Hoffman.
