  SPANGLER
  
    Merle L. (Chal) Spangler, 71, of Meadow St., Berlin, died July 7,
  1976 in Meyersdale Community Hospital.  Born January 6, 1905 in
  Somerset.  The son of the late Reuben G. and Grace (Long) Spangler. 
  Preceded in death by one sister.  Survived by his wife, the former
  Helen Barr and two sisters:  Florence Spangler and Mary Glessner,
  both of Glencoe.  Member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin,
  and the Somerset Eagles, Lodge 1801.  Friends will be received in the
  Johnson and Son Funeral Home in Berlin after 7 p.m. Thursday where
  services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Ralph E.
  Mills officiating.  Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
