Despite his advanced age Mr. Spangler was able to be about and was active in community and church affairs until a few days ago, when he was stricken with pneumonia. He is survived by several children, including Mrs. Harvey Miller, of Ferndale; Mrs. Lillian Stull, of Johnstown; Irvin and Norman Spangler, both of York, and M. L. Spangler, with whom he made his home here. He was a brother of W. W. Spangler, of Stoyestown, and E. E. Spangler, of Ferndale. Meyersdale Republican, July 23, 1931
