He had offices and resided in the Denver, Colo., area. Born June 7, 1932 in Columbus Ohio, he grew up in Pittsburgh. He graduated in 1955 from Washington and Jefferson College and in 1960 from Temple University Medical School. He was in family practice in Somerset in 1961-64 then moved to Colorado. Dr. Spangler was president of the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians in 1979-1980 and a diplomat of the American Board of Family Physicians. He also held a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. He married the former Marita Pigossi of Bridgeville on Dec. 31, 1954. He is survived by his wife; five children: Carl, Jennifer, Eric and Robert Spangler and Catheryn Hamer; mother, Sarah Ruth Spangler, Chapel Hill, N.C.; sister, Janet Kovach, Edison, N.J. and two grandchildren.
