M. Louther, in Somerset, with whom she had resided for the last 30 years. She had been bedfast for the last six weeks. She was born April 16, 1841, at Casebeer, near Sipesville, and spent her entire life in Somerset County. Mrs. Spangler was the last of the 12 children of Joseph and Sarah Hoffman. She was twice married. Her first husband was Nelson A. Statler, who was killed in the Civil War. Her second husband, Abraham Spangler, passed away 37 years ago. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. R. R. Winters and Mrs. J. M. Louther, both of Somerset; Charles H. Spangler, of Holsopple, and Mrs. Elizabeth Kaufman, of Marionville, Pa. She also leaves two nephews - J. M. Cover, of Somerset, and Dr. W. H. Hoffman, of Johnstown; two nieces - Mrs. G. C. Bantz, of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Howard Werntz, of Glendale, Cal. - 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Spangler was an active worker in the Somerset Lutheran Church and the Somerset W.C.T.U. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Louther home, in charge of Rev. Dr. I. Hess Wagner, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by interment in the Lutheran Church cemetery at Friedens. Undertaker C. R. Hauger was in charge of the burial arrangements.
