Spangler, 83, of Friedens RD 2, died Aug. 30, 1985, Somerset Community Hospital. Born March 5, 1902, in Stonycreek Township, son of the late Charles and Mary (Baltzer) Spangler. Preceded in death by sisters: Helen, Alma and Anna; brother, Frank. Survived by his widow, the former Ethel Yeager; and the following daughters: Mrs. Elroy (Dorothy) Hinton of Wilmore; Mrs. Robert (Doris) Kimmel and Mrs. John (Shirley) Adder Jr., both of Friedens RD 2; Mrs. John (Evelyn) Koontz, Bedford RD 1; Mrs. Harry (Mary) Schrock Jr., Rockwood RD 1; and Nancy, at home; also, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Martin (Elsie) Kiehl, Friedens RD 2. Death ends a marriage union of 58 years. Retired Stonycreek Township farmer and mason. Member of Shanksville Assembly of God Church. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Joel Everhart officiating.
