Spaugy, a retired farmer, aged 72, died Monday evening, Dec. 2, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Hay, of Meyersdale R.D. 2. He was born in Northampton Twp. on July 11, 1874, a son of Adam and Sara (Flickinger) Spaugy. Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Engle; two sons, Edgar A., Akron, O., and Paul E., at home; two daughters, Mrs. Wilmer Marker, Garrett, and Mrs. Wilson Hay, Meyersdale R.D. 2; one brother, C. W. Spaugy, Fairhope, and one sister, Mrs. Minerva Spangler, Somerset. There are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was affiliated with the Modern Woodmen of the World and the St. Paul Reformed Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Hay. Rev. F. D. Witmer, pastor of Grace Evangelical and Reformed Church, Garrett, officiated. Interment was made in St. Paul Cemetery, Elk Lick Twp., under direction of the Price & Son Funeral Home.
