Spaugy, 52, superintendent of the Old Folks Home at Scalp Level for the past ten years, died there Tuesday, Oct. 12. He had been ill for some time. He was born February 3, 1896, a son of Henry and Rebecca Blough Spaugy. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olive Ashbrook Spaugy, and two children, Mrs. Oscar Anderson, Ferndale, and Mrs. Ray Sleek, Clearville; and also two grandchildren, a brother, the Rev. Dr. L. D. Spaugy, and three sisters - Mrs. J. E. Hamer and Mrs. Charles Halehon of Johnstown, and Mrs. A. M. Uphouse of Holsopple. Services will be held at the Old Folks Home, Saturday at 1:30 p.m., with additional services at the Hooversville Church of the Brethren at 3:30, with the Rev. Clarence Rosenberger, the Rev. Kenneth Blough and the Rev. George Yoder officiating. Burial will be made in Hooversville cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, October 14, 1948
