  JOHN SPEAR
  
    John Spear, 81, Friendsville, Md., died Dec. 29, 1972, in
  Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home in Oakland, Md.
    Born in Friendsville, he was a son of the late James and Lucretia
  (Frazee) Spear.
    He was a member of Friendsville Methodist Church.
    Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Izetta (Savage) Spear; six sons,
  Vernon Spear, Addison; James, Robert and Paul Spear, all of
  Friendsville; Richard Spear, Owensville, Ind.; and Charles Spear,
  Salisbury; four daughters, Mrs. Doris Friend, Manchester; Mrs. Betty
  Turney, Mrs. Lydia Friend and Mrs. Rita Augustine, all of
  Friendsville; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a
  sister, Mrs. Eliztbeth [sic] Callis, Accident, Md.
    Funeral service was conducted Sunday afternoon in Newman Funeral
  Home, Friendsville, with Rev. William Carlson officiating.  Interment
  in the Steele Cemetery, Friendsville.
