Spear, 57, of Friendsville, Md., died August 13, 1982, in the Veterans Hospital at Martinsburg, W.Va. He was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Confluence, and was the son of Izetta (Savage) Spear, Friendsville and the late John Spear. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Confluence VFW Post. Also surviving besides his mother are a son, Scott Spear, Listonburg; two daughters, Mrs. Robin Sines and Mrs. Dianne DeWitt, both of Friendsville; four brothers, Vernon Spear, Addison; James Spear and Paul Spear, both of Friendsville; Richard Spear, Owensville, Ind.; one half brother, Charles Spear, Salisbury; four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Friend, Mrs. Doris Friend, Mrs. Betty Turney and Mrs. Rita Augustine, all of Friendsville; and one grandchild. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home where services were conducted at the funeral home with the Rev. Edward Myers officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
