Specht, 81, of Stoystown, died Jan. 15, 1996, at Somerset Hospital. Born Feb. 12, 1914, in Stoystown, son of Don C. and Jennie (Stahl) Specht. Preceded in death by parents and sisters: Arlene Peiffer and Marie Specht. Survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Marguerite Meyers; son, Kenneth F., married to the former Bonnie Faidley, Grantsville, Md. Brother of Frances Schrader of Somerset; Ruth Richter of Long Island, N.Y., and Dolores Berkebile, San Diego, Calif. Also survived by lifetime best friend and cousin, Merle Stahl. He attended Cambria Rowe and was graduated from University of Pittsburgh. A former co-owner of the former Specht Super Market of Stoystown. Retired from Rockwood Insurance Company. World War II Army Air Corps instructor. Member of Grace Lutheran Church and Robert P. Hite Post 257, American Legion, both of Stoystown, and Blind Veterans Association. A former member and treasurer of Stoystown Lions Club, and former member and secretary of Stoystown Borough Council. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Walter L. Startzel. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown. American Legion service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
