Speicher, 94, of Somerset RD 5, died Dec. 9, 1972. She was born Dec. 28, 1877, in New Germany, Md.; a daughter of the late Perry H. and Eliza Jane (Lohr) Broadwater. Preceded in death by her husband, William A. Speicher who died in 1930; and one son, John Perry, 1959. Survived by five children: Foster O. Speicher, Louisville, Ky.; the Rev. Ross Harrisonburg, Va.; Mrs. Gilbert (Kathryn) Smith of Davis W. Va.; Mrs. Joseph (Lena) Granato of Keeport, N.J.; and Mrs. Floyd (Vernice) Zehner of Somerset RD 5. Also, surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one foster son, Guy Broadwater of Accident, Md.; one brother, Clyde Broadwater of Lanark, Ill; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Ault of Lavalle, Md. She was the oldest member of the Accident Church of the Brethren. Friends are being received at the Wilbur Funeral Home until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday when prayer service will be conducted, followed by additional rites in the Accident Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul R. White and the Rev. Harry E. Atzenhofer officiating. Interment, Church Cemetery. Remains will lie in state at the church until after 12 p.m. Daily American, 11 December 1972 [S2550]
