"Huck" Speicher, 79, of Rockwood RD 2, died Jan. 24, 1993, at Somerset Hospital. Born May 24, 1913, in Rockwood, son of late George F. Sr. and Gladys (Miller) Speicher. Also preceded in death by sister, Audrey Bryne. Survived by wife of 44 years, the former Nancy Neilan, and these children: George Speicher III of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Mitchell (Audrey) Goodis, Shingle Springs, Calif.; Mrs. David (Kathleen) Weakley, Forest, Va., and grandchildren - Jennie and Jamie Goodis and Sarah and Meredith Weakley. Brother, Douglas Speicher, Queensbury, N.Y. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset. Graduate of Duke University, Durham, N.C. Lifelong resident of Rockwood area. Former owner-operator of Rockwood Poultry Processing Co. and Middlecreek Poultry Farm. Former owner-operator of Rockwood Water Co. and High Point Land Co. Former owner-operator of Laurel Hill Restaurant. Owned and edited the Rockwood newspaper (Rockwood Leader). Vice president of Rockwood Keystone Bank. Director of Rockwood Union Bank. Former member of Rockwood Area School Board and former board member of Middlecreek Golf Course. Charter member of Rockwood Rotary Club. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where wake service will be at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Msgr. Samuel J. Tomaselli. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
