Speicher, 84, of 6 Garden Center Dr., Greensburg, died Tuesday, July 19, 1988, in the Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born Aug. 31, 1903, in Somerset, a son of the late Morris W. and Cora (Hemminger) Speicher. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a miner at J & L Steel, Vesta #5 Works. Prior to that, he was employed by Mather Colliers Mines, in Mather. He was a member of the Sipesville Church of the Brethren and was affiliated with the First Christian Church of Greensburg. He was also a member of the U.M.W.A. of Fredricktown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Horner, a daughter, Nellie Grace Marshall; two brothers: James and Clyde Speicher; and four sisters: Gladys Burns, Blanche Crytzer, Mary Sanner and Leora Menhorn. Survived by a son, Charles B., Greensburg; three daughters: Mrs. James (Helen) Rankin, Rockwood; Mrs. Alex (Selma) Harry and Mrs. Ray (Mary) Scott, both of Waynesburg; 20 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. A brother of R. Dale Speicher, Meyersdale, and Mrs. James (Hazel) Hay, Somerset. Viewing was at the Barnhart Funeral Home in Greensburg Wednesday. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Frank Behm Funeral Home, 182 West High St., Waynesburg, where service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard T. Merriman officiating. Interment, Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
