Born July 25, 1929, in Somerset, the son of John Jacob Sr. and Marie Lois (Weller) Speicher. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Betty Ann Miller, who died March 24, 2004; sister, Martha I. Speicher. Survived by children, Michael L. Speicher and wife, Patricia, Saint Charles, Mo.; Ms. Marjorie A. Dellinger, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; Mrs. David (Audrey M.) Padmos, Vacaville, Calif.; Mrs. Peter (Joyce C.) Thomas, Pensacola, Fla.; David J. Speicher and wife, Jeri, Mascoutah, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and brother, Fred Speicher, Hershey. A 1947 graduate of Somerset High School, retired in 1977 as a master sergeant for the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He later worked as an auto parts manager for Hunts Truck Sales. Also a member of First United Methodist Church, Somerset. Friends received from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Daniel F. Nicksich officiating. Interment Husband Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to USO or the Disabled American Veterans.
