Speicher, 84, of New Paris RD 1, died May 16, 1975, in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born July 20, 1890, in Somerset County, he was a son of the late John D. and Emma Catherine (Kegg) Speicher. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Binnie Koontz, four brothers, four sisters and a grandchild. Surviving are a daughter, LaVerne, wife of Ben VanScoyoc, New Paris RD, with whom he resided; a brother, Howard F., Meyersdale; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Cumberland, Md.; and Mrs. Genevieve Stocking, Lawndale, Calif. He was a retired manager of National Radiator Company, veteran of World War I, a former member of Everett Barracks of World War I Veterans Association and member of New Paris United Methodist Church. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon in Mickle - Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, with Rev. Ralph Landis officiating. Interment in Schellsburg Cemetery. Meyersdale Republic, May 22, 1975 [S2579]
