"Katie" 02/13/08 Daily American Luella G. "Katie" Speicher, 84, Somerset, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 10, 2008. During her last years, she resided at Siemon's Lakeview Manor Estate. Born at home on April 14, 1923, in Shanksville, the daughter of Lemon and Nevada (Mostoller) Trent. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Speicher; brothers, William "Bud" Kimmel, George, Wilmer "Bill," John; and sisters, Victoria Smith, Blanche Ferrara, Velma Walker and Shirley Custer. She is survived by a son, Larry "Tom" Speicher; three grandchildren; loving brother-in-law, Sammy Speicher and wife, Linda; as well as loving sisters-in-law, Ruth Kimmel, Wanda Kimmel-Van and Susan Kimmel; and many nieces and nephews. Luella retired from the Somerset Hospital dietary department after 20 years of service. She enjoyed volunteering her time to serve on the Somerset County Fair Board and the Somerset 4-H Club for many years. She lived to serve the Lord and attended the Church of the Nazarene in Somerset. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. John Buchko officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
