  M. Irene Speicher, 87, Everett RD 1, died Aug. 20, 1998, at Pennknoll
  Village.  Born May 5, 1911 in Manns Choice, daughter of Leo and Mary
  (Martin) Smith.  She married Oscar L. Speicher Sr., in 1941 in New
  Baltimore.  He preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1987.  She was a
  housewife and avid doll collector and quilt maker.  Member of St.
  John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore.  Survived by six
  sons, C. Russell, married to the former Evelyn Diehl, Manns Choice
  RD; Oscar Jr., married to the former Maureen Murphy, Manns Choice RD;
  Meredith, married to the former Shirley Hillegass, Manns Choice RD;
  Donald L. married to Ruth, Raleigh, N.C.; Carl, married to the former
  Ann Harris, Raleigh, N.C.; and Jay, married to the former Sue Wentz,
  Bedford; 20 grandchildren,; 32 great-grandchildren and three
  great-great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by brother Patrick
  Smith; sister, Catherine Imgrund; and granddaughter, Lucinda
  Miller.  Visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, at Mickle-Geisel
  Funeral Home, Schellsburg.  Wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m.,
  Friday, at the funeral home.  Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.,
  Saturday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Rev. Mark Begley,
  celebrant.  Interment Schellsburg Cemetery.
