She has been in failing health for some time and has been blind for about three years. Mrs. Speicher was born on April 13, 1883, in Masontown, Pa., daughter of Francis and Hannah (Ache) Johnson, and was aged 61 years, 7 months and 4 days. She was twice married, first to Lloyd A. Shumaker, who died in 1909, and later to Norman A. Speicher, who died in 1935. She is survived by one daughter, Edna Shumaker Uphold, three grandchildren, Mary, Donald and Elizabeth Uphold, all of St. Paul; and three brothers, Emerson Johnson and Dr. M. L. Johnson of Uniontown, and Dr. Clayton Johnson of Hollywood, Calif. Mrs. Speicher resided in this vicinity for about 35 years. She was a faithful member of the Wilhelm Reformed Church, and was a very amiable lady, who enjoyed the friendship of many people. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Speicher home in St. Paul, with Rev. Nelson C. Brown of the Meyersdale Reformed Church officiating. Interment in the St. Paul Cemetery with Morticians W. C. Price and Son in charge. Meyersdale Republican, November 23, 1944
