  OSCAR L. SPEICHER
  
    Oscar L. Speicher Sr., 81, Manns Choice RD 1, died Sept. 17, 1987,
  at Bedford County Hospital.
    He was born Jan. 31, 1906, in Somerset County, son of late Charles
  and Mary (Stouffer) Speicher.
    He was preceded in death by first wife, former Violet Small;
  daughter, Irene; brother, Daniel; sister, Stella Keller; and two
  infant sisters, Blanche and Catherine.
    He is survived by second wife, former M. Irene Smith, whom he
  married Aug. 7, 1941; and these sons:  C. Russell, married to former
  Evelyn Diehl; Oscar Jr., married to former Lois Boyer, and Meredith,
  married to former Shirley Hillegass, all of Manns Choice RD; Donald
  L.; Carl, married to former Ann Harris, both of Raleigh, N.C.; and
  Jay, married to former Gwyn Hershberger, Bedford; also 20
  grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
    He was a brother of Clarence, Stoystown RD 3; Mrs. Bertha Adams,
  Buffalo Mills RD; Miss Florence, Everett; and Mrs. Grace Sivits,
  Berlin.
    He was a retired sawmill worker and farmer; member of St. Mark's
  United Church of Christ, New Buena Vista, where services were held at
  2 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Timothy Helms officiating.  Interment,
  Schellsburg Cemetery.  Mickle - Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg was
  in charge of arrangements.
