A son of the late Robert and Catherine (Nashwinter) Spence, he was born June 6, 1905 in Meyersdale. His wife, Vivian (Weicht) Spence, preceded him in death in 1967. Surviving is a son, Stan S. Spence of Climax Springs, Missouri; 2 grandsons, Scott and wife, Carleigh, of Cleveland, Ohio; and Robert, of Dayton, Ohio; 1 great grandchild; also a brother, Russell L. Spence of Johnstown; a sister, Luella M. Davis of Pittsburgh; and one nephew, Robert Lewis of Johnstown. Mr. Spence was a retired professional engineer as well as a deputy district engineer with the Dept. of Transportation, retiring on Aug. 30, 1967 after 42 years of service. Member of F.&A.M. Lodge 313, Indiana, Pa.; as well as Aerie 1468, Indiana, Pa. Visitation from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Donations may be made to the Allegheny Lutheran Home. Spence of Johnstown; sister Luella M. Davis of Pittsburgh; and one nephew, Robert Lewis of Johnstown.
