    Russell L. Spence, 90, Johnstown, died Jan. 12, 2002 at UPMC Lee
  Regional.  Born Aug. 21, 1911 in Meyersdale, son of the late Robert
  and Catherine (Nashwinter) Spence.  Preceded in death by first wife,
  Anna Mae; infant daughter, Sally Ann; brothers, Robert and George;
  and sister, Winifred.  Survived by wife, Leona (Rogers); son,
  Russell, married to former Karen Wright, Windber; granddaughter,
  Stacy, wife of Joseph Cordek, Lancaster; and Amy, wife of Tim Elgin,
  Johnstown; great-grandson, Andrew Elgin and sister, Luella Davis,
  Pittsburgh.  Also survived by Leona's son, Marlin, Warren, Ohio; his
  daughter, Jennifer; and Jennifer's daughter, Elexis, both of Idaho;
  and special nephew, Robert Lewis.  Retired letter carrier for U.S.
  Postal Service, Johnstown.  Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday
  at forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may
  be made to Moxham Lutheran Church, Johnstown.
