SPIKER Henry Lorenzo Spiker, 83, Railroad Street, died Friday, July 21, 1989, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He had been a resident of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Md. Born Dec. 10, 1905, in Klondike, he was the son of the late William Henry and W. Charlotte (Poland) Spiker. He was a retired coal miner and retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Company with 20 years of service. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Midland Sportsmen Club and Senior Citizens of Lonaconing, Md. Surviving are his widow Blanche Gertrude (McKenzie) Spiker; two sons, Henry S. Spiker and Joseph P. Spiker, both of Midland, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Eileen C. Oster, Salisbury; and Rose Marie McAlpine, Knapps Meadow; two brothers, Everett Spiker, Lonaconing, Md.; and Charles Spiker, Frostburg, Md.; one sister, Nancy Ritchie, Richmond, Va.; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, Md. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church by Father William Dalton.
