Spiker, 71, Markleton RD 1, died Jan. 28, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 12, 1900, in Bedford, he was the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Berkebile) Spiker. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Anna J. Gardner; two sons, Paul and Richard, a daughter, Agnes; two sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his widow, the former Ethel May and these children: Frieda, wife of Robert Turner, Hooversville RD 1; Pauline, wife of Arthur Yost, Boswell; Anna, wife of Peter Moskey, Jenners; Robert D., married to the former Evelyn Weimer, Palm Bay, Fla.; and Louise, wife of Robert Berkey, Boswell RD 1; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also two brothers, Charles Spiker, Hollsopple, and the Rev. Thomas Spiker, of College Park, Md. He was a member of the Jerome Local 1113, UMW of A, and Somerset Fraternal Order of Eagles. Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon in Joseph Hoffman and Sons Funeral Home, Boswell, with the Rev. James F. Hoffmeyer officiating. Interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
