Born July 28, 1888 in Austria, a son of George and Mary Salia Spilka. Preceded in death by parents. Long-time member of S. S. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Boswell and Johnstown Local 1040 UMWA. Prominent resident of Boswell for many years, and a retired coal member, having worked in area mines from 1913 until 1951. Friends received from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, at the Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where Parastas will be sung at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Prayer Service at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by funeral mass at 9 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Church.
