Spoerlein, 77, of South Franklin Ave., Somerset, died Sept. 8, 1999, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 16, 1921, in Accident, Md., son of the late A.C. and Jennie (Beachy) Spoerlein. Also preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur. Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Rozella Casebeer; and the following children: Mrs. John (Linda) Stoner, Stutzmantown Road, Somerset, Roger, married to the former Linda Reeves of Glades Pike, Somerset, Randall, married to the former Sandra Stoner, Village Road, Somerset, and grandchildren: Donna, married to Paul Jano, Randall Spoerlein Jr., Jason, Jenny and Jared Spoerlein; a great-grandson, Paul Jano Jr.; nephew, Robert Spoerlein of LaGrange, Ohio, and nieces, Lesley Lohr, Silver Spring, Md., Susan Perry of Parker, Colo. Member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren, where he served on the Board of Deacons and the Trustee Board; Rockwood Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, Somerset Lodge 358 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, president of REC board of directors for 20 years, owner and president of SoNeet, Inc. from 1967 to 1987. Manager of the Somerset Farm Bureau Hatchery for 22 years. Veteran of World War II, U.S. Army, where he served with General Patton's Third Army. Member of the VFW and the Somerset American Legion. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Somerset Church of the Brethren, where friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dottie Steel and Roger Forry officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
