Spory, 91, of Airesman Road, Boswell RD, went to be with the Lord Dec. 1, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. Born March 20, 1909, in Jenner Township. Son of Phillip G. and Katie Ann (Boose) Spory. Preceded in death by parents, first wife Hazel (Speicher) Spory-Anderson, six sisters and four brothers. Survived by daughters Betty G. Mort, with whom he resided, Joyce P., married to Vincent Fusco, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Sondra L. Dunmyer of Jenners, and Phyllis J., married to Terry Ohler, of Kimmelton; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Also brother Leon of Boswell RD, former wife Mamie Nelson of Somerset, and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 066B, Latrobe. Former crane operator for Latrobe Steel. Retired head diesel mechanic for Latrobe Construction with 24 years service. Along with his friend Arnold Hay, operated a lawn mower and chainsaw repair business in Jennerstown. Avid sportsman and gardener who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. Monday at Laurel Trinity Church, with the Rev. Edward N. Corneilson officiating. Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery, Jenner Township.
