Born Dec. 10, 1907, in Carnegie, Pa., the son of the late Ebert W. and Hortense (Knapp) Springer. Survived by wife, Hildegarde of Penn Hills; one daughter, Gretchen O'Hagan of Penn Hills; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Bauer of Ingram, Allegheny County. Retired engineer from the Army Corps of Engineers, serving with them for 38 years, and a member of the Wilkinsburg Elks. Naval veteran of World War II. A member of St. James Episcopal Church, Penn Hills. Resided in Bakersville upon his retirement from 1970 until 1983, when he returned to Pittsburgh. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Maurice L. Knee, Ltd., 800 Center St., Pittsburgh. Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 11524 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.
