He passed away at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born Sept. 9, 1939, in Washington, to the late George Francis Sprowls and Catharine Rosalie (Egan) Sprowls. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 1/2 years, Jeanne Rhea (Ross) Sprowls. He was very proud of their three sons, Thomas Egan Sprowls Jr., married to the former Deborah Paul, Timothy Adam Sprowls, married to the former Margaret Merrill, all of Berlin and Joshua John Sprowls, married to the former Heather Langdon, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was a wonderful "Pap" to their five grandchildren, Joel, Luke, Grace, Leah and Levi, all of Berlin. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles, of Williamsburg, and David, of Finleyville; and a sister, Ellen (Sprowls) Stehle, Eighty-Four. He was a 1957 graduate of Claysville High School, a 1963 graduate of California State College and he did graduate work at Indiana State Teachers College. Mr. Sprowls was retired from the Berlin Brothersvalley High School as an English Teacher after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Berlin Brethren Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He also was an Eagle Scout, a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for 55 years, and a charter member of the Berlin True Value Hardware Adult Day Care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, 705 Main St., Berlin. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Monday at the Berlin Brethren Church with the Rev. Eugene Oburn and the Rev. Tom Sprowls Jr. officiating. The resurrection site will be in the Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
