  SPURGEON
  
    Mary M. Spurgeon, 89, of Augusta, Ga., died Nov. 22, 2000 in
  Doctor's Hospital, Augusta.  She was born Feb. 28, 1911 in Martins
  Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie G. (Chambers)
  Murray.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
  husband James William Spurgeon, an infant son, a daughter Miriam, and
  a sister Leora Johnson.  She is survived by a son James and his wife
  Lana, of Martinez, Ga.; three grandchildren, James D. Spurgeon Jr.,
  Jarrett W. Spurgeon and Joellen Williams, and three
  great-grandchildren.  She was employed at Martins Ferry Hospital for
  many years.  Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on
  Sunday, the hour of service at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. 
  Interment will follow in Addison Cemetery.
