    John C. Stafford, 85, of Garrett, died Dec. 12, 1974, at his
  residence.  Born July 3, 1889, in Coupon, PA., he was a son of the
  late Harry and Mary Catheryn (Brubaker) Stafford.  His wife, the
  former Elizabeth Morgan, preceded him in death. 
    Surviving are four children, Dr. William O. Stafford, Altoona;
  Robert P. Stafford and Mrs. Albert Mock, both of Alexandria, Va.;
  Mrs. Stanley Witt, Garrett; and seven grandchildren.
    He was a member of United Mine Workers, Meyersdale American Legion
  Post and was a veteran of World War I.
    Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon in Richard E. Hauger
  Funeral Home, Somerset, with Rev. Thomas Moog officiating.  Interment
  in Somerset County Memorial Park.
