    Nancy Jean, 76, 1215 26th Avenue, Altoona, died Aug. 7, 1999, at
  her home.  Born May 12, 1923, daughter of the late John and Marie
  (Klingensmith) Readman.  Preceded in death by sister Eleanor
  McAllison and brother Theodore Readman.  Survived by husband, Dr.
  William O. Stafford, whom she married July 9, 1949 in Ebensburg; son
  John, and wife, Karen, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; grandchildren, William
  S. and Faith Marie; sisters Emily, wife of George Hanshaw, Penn
  Hills, and Jacqueline, wife of John Connor, Altoona.  Mrs. Stafford
  was a homemaker.  A 1942 graduate of Ebensburg High School.  Funeral
  service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (today) at Mauk & Yates
  Funeral Home in Altoona, the Rev. Donna L. Hess.  Entombment, Alto
  Reste Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer
  Research or charity of choice.
