She was a daughter of John and Sarah Hay, both deceased, and was born in Brothersvalley. She was a life-long member of the Mt. Zion (Hay) Reformed Church. She was married to John Stahl and they passed their entire married life in Brothersvalley Township, until he passed away 31 years ago. Eight children were born to them, three preceding their mother to the grave - William, Charles and Irwin. The surviving children are Elmer, of Freemont, Neb.; Mrs. Ephraim Bowman, Frank Stahl and Mrs. Susan Wernsing, all of Brothersvalley Township, and Robert Stahl, of Baltimore, Md. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and these brothers and sisters: Henry, Simon F., and Allen Hay, all of Brothersvalley Township, and Mrs. Malissa Coleman, of Everett. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Mt. Zion Reformed Church. Interment in the church cemetery, in charge of Undertaker J. N. Johnson & Son of Berlin.
